ZUMBA!

Okay, I FINALLY tried Zumba. My absolutely wonderful mother got me the Zumba Exhilarate DVD set! I tried it for the first time today and I LOVE it!!!!!

I never look forward to working out- it's always annoying and sometimes painful, and even though I feel better after I hate doing all that "work." THANKFULLY, Zumba is so much fun!!! It's a workout (that's for sure) but the dancing and the music make you forget you're exercising (besides the sweat and the difficulty breathing lol)!

I am not the most coordinated or agile person in the world. And, somehow, I lost the rhythm I used to have in high school (or maybe it was all in my head). But, Zumba is super easy! I don't get ALL the steps quite right, but it doesn't matter if you're having fun with it! It's great cardio and it works EVERYTHING! What I really love is that I can do these DVDs in the privacy of my living room so I don't look like an idiot LOL. I get really self-conscious when I go to workout classes, and this is the first time I've tried Zumba. I usually tire really quickly when I workout, but, surprisingly, this didn't happen with Zumba! In fact, after an hour of learning the moves and 30 minutes of full-out working out I still wanted to keep going! Unfortunately, I can't just stop my life LOL.

I look forward to continuing using this and getting better at the moves! This makes me actually want to work out! I can't wait to try some of the harder stuff! If you hate working out like me I definitely think you should try it. I don't know how you could NOT love it!!

Here's the link to get the DVDs -> http://www.zumba.com/shop/category/dvd_s/

Also, there's Zumba for Wii, which is a less expensive option. I haven't tried it but I bet it's just as fun! ->

The Best of Me- Nicholas Sparks

I am a huge Nicholas Sparks fan. HUGE. And, unfortunately I don't have very much time to read his books during the semester. However, my mom lives in Atlanta (8 hours away) so I try to squeeze in some leisure books during my drive. Audiobooks are a life saver when it comes to road trips, if you ask me.

So, on my last trip back I decided to get Nicholas Sparks' new book- The Best of Me. I always laugh at myself when I get his books for a drive because I always end up crying my eyes out, and I feel ridiculous when I'm driving and bursting into tears at the same time.

Anyway, this book is an unbelievably sweet and romantic story about long-lost lovers who find each other again. I can't really get into it because (A) I'll cry haha and (B) I might accidentally give away the surprise twist. If you're a hopeless romantic like me, though, you will LOVE this- and I mean love it. A love like the kind in this book only happens to a lucky few of us, and this story is so amazing (as well as a little heartbreaking) that you will not be able to stop until it's finished.

So, next time you're at Barnes and Noble PLEASE pick up this book. It is so good, and I know all you hopeless romantics out there will fall in love with it as much as I have. It's simply wonderful

The Hunger Games trilogy- Suzanne Collins

HOLY MOTHER! Let me start off by saying that these books are amazing. I was a little wary at first because they were so popular I was worried they wouldn't live up to the hype. Oh, but they did. My friend Maggie was gracious enough to let me use her kindle to read these books. I probably should have waited to start them so they wouldn't get in the way of school, but I had no idea how ADDICTING they would be. Once I started I could not put them down!!! These science fiction novels were SO good, I even dare to say they were better than the Twilight saga (and I am a HUGE Twi-hard). It's an action packed story with a little bit of romance, and it has the "Fahrenheit 451 & 1984" feel that I love! (I don't know how to describe those types of books, but I'm sure you've read them and can get where I'm coming from.)

Anyway, they're amazing. I don't know how to describe it without giving the story away so take my advice and READ them. I guarantee you will not stop until the end. I stayed up for hours and neglected school just so I could read them. I had to finish them fast or I would've been behind in school haha. Suzanne Collins did an AMAZING job when she wrote these books, and needless to say, I cannot WAIT for the movies. You won't be disappointed.

NUTELLA S'MORES!

Okay, seriously these are better than regular s'mores...

I was really craving s'mores (because they're delicious!) but I didn't have chocolate bars, or a fire, or huge marshmallows. WELL! PROBLEM SOLVED! I spread some nutella on one half of my graham crackers, put 4 mini marshmallows on the other half, stuck the one with marshmallows in the microwave for 15 seconds (which is pretty cool to look at because they get huge lol) and BAM! awesome s'mores :D

The only thing that is missing is the delicious burnt/roasted marshmallow taste. But, the nutella is the perfect taste of chocolate because it's not so overbearing that you need a gallon of water afterwards.

As you can imagine I am a pretty happy camper (haha no pun intended). I will be making these regularly! They are just so good it's unbelievable and I just had to tell you about them.

EAT UP! and enjoy...

I had some pink ribbon lying around so i googled how to make a flower out of ribbon and this video popped up! it's so helpful and it was so easy to make! I will definitely make more of these! lol

Cream Cheese Queso

So, every week at bible study someone makes some goodies. This past week on of the girls made this AMAZING cream cheese queso. She so graciously gave us all the recipe and I made it the next day... It's officially my favorite kind of queso. It's so good there are no words. And, it's really filling- which is good because if it weren't I would eat all of it haha. So, I thought I would share this deliciousness with y'all too!

Ingredients:

2 8oz philadelphia cream cheese
1 whole jar of pace picante, i used medium
1 package of shredded mexican or cheddar cheese.

Put the cream cheese in a bowl and into the microwave for about 3-4 minutes on 50 - 60% power to avoid burning the cheese or making it gross.

Once it starts melting put the salsa and cheese in for around 1minute and 20seconds at full power

Stir and enjoy!!

Let me know what you think! I'm pretty sure you'll love it :)

Taco Ring

I love food.. and usually I love cooking, the only problem being that I live alone. However, I was really craving a Taco Ring so I made one anyway. These things are delicious. I love them! And, they are so easy to make it's crazy! Here's the recipe I used:

Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef shopping list
1 pkg taco seasoning mix
1 cup (4 oz) cheddar cheese
2 Tbsp water
2 8 oz refrigerated crescent rolls

Preheat oven to 375
Brown ground beef and drain grease.

Stir in taco seasoning, water and cheese.

Unroll crescent rolls and separate. Arrange triangles in a circle on a round baking stone (i used a regular baking sheet and it worked just as well) with wide ends overlapping in center and points toward the outside. There should be about a 5 inch diameter in the center.

Scoop meat mixture evenly onto widest ends of dough at center of ring. Bring points in and over and tuck underneath the wide end.

Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
You can garnish with bell pepper, lettuce, salsa, tomatoes, onion, sour cream, olives, etc.

ENJOY!! If you try it tell me what you think! :)

Teva Women's Mush Flip Flop

This semester has been so busy I barely have time to breathe, much less blog. However, I just got these new flip flops and i LOVE them... I just had to share!! :D

I have a pair of Volatile flip flops that are super comfy and just a little high. I thought those were the most comfortable flip-flops ever... until now! These are seriously the most comfortable shoes I own. Usually when it comes to flip-flops I try to not spend too much so I go to Old Navy and get like 3 pairs for $5.00... I don't think I'll ever go back now, though! These were $20 at DSW but it is $20 well spent!!! I wear my flip-flops into the ground and this is a good pair that is sure to last for a while. My old flip-flops were so worn down I could feel the rocks and everything on the ground but I don't think I'll have to worry about that with these. They're thick but not bulky, and unlike Old Navy flip-flops, the top part of the sole (the part you actually step on) is "mush" so you won't slip! I can't tell you how many times I've slipped out of my Old Navy ones. I think these will probably be the only flip-flops I buy from now on.. I LOVE THEM!

Best Chicken Salad EVER

Hello, fellow bloggers!

Sorry I have been gone way too long. I feel like I haven't posted in forever. School has been so crazy that I don't have time to write anything. **Sorry for using an old post!!**

This recipe is easy, simple, and DELICIOUS! Definitely a favorite of mine, especially when I have left over rotisserie chicken.

Ingredients:
2 cups diced chicken
1/3-1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp sour cream
1 cup grapes, sliced
1 green onion- sliced thin
1 rib celery- sliced thin
1.4 tsp salt
dash pepper
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp honey (I use a tablespoon, tho)

Combine all ingredients except honey until mixed well, adding mayo if needed. Mix in honey to taste.

I think the honey makes it so good so I use a lot more honey than the original recipe calls for. I love this chicken salad tho.. If you try it let me know what you think! :)

e.l.f. cosmetics

So, I am definitely what people would call a girly-girl which means I love makeup and all that good stuff. Unfortunately, however, makeup is expensive (especially my favorite: MAC). But there is hope!!! At the new Target in Esplanade Mall in Kenner my friend showed me this new line of makeup that sells almost everything for ONE DOLLAR (some of it is $3-$6 but that's still cheaper than everywhere else!)! The line is called eyes lips and face- abbreviated e.l.f. The store didn't have everything I was looking for- especially since most of it was sold out- so I checked out the website:

elf Makeup & Cosmetics – Top Rated Premium Cosmetic & Makeup for Less

They have SO much great stuff! And it all seems to be good quality. They're always giving away free stuff or HUGE discounts. I have so much I want to buy from them already (just need the money to do it LOL)! I've read the reviews and it is almost ALL positive! I can't wait to try it!

REVIEW: SEPHORA by OPI Nail Colour: Nail Polish

Sephora: SEPHORA by OPI Nail Colour: Nail Polish

As another part of my Sephora shipment I got a full-size nail polish called "Go With The Flow-er" and it is AMAZING!! I think this is my new favorite nail polish. I have been loving the look of the glittery nail polishes so I was so excited when I saw this one!

When I first looked at the bottle it didn't look like it was going to show the glitter as much as I hoped. But, once I put it on it was perfect! My favorite color is pink and this is just...perfect (like i said)! haha I don't even know how else to describe it. I did expect the glitter to be a little bigger but I still absolutely love it. It needs about 2 coats to be even but it is amazing... It's great for spring and summer but I'm gonna rock it for fall, too, anyway.

I think next I'm going to try the "What's Your Poison?" color. It's a cranberry red with bigger glitter- this one will definitely be great for fall and winter. :)

REVIEW: SEPHORA by OPI Urban Ballerina Mini Collection: Nail Polish Sets

Sephora: SEPHORA by OPI Urban Ballerina Mini Collection: Nail Polish Sets

Ok, I am obsessed!!! I just got my new order in from Sephora- and this was one of the things I ordered... I LOVE IT! It's so cute!
The colors included are:
1. Leotard Optional
This is a neutral nude-ish color. It's a little darker than I expected- a little more brown. But I still love it! It is such a cute neutral color. Probably doesn't need more than one coat
2. The Way Tutu His Heart
SO cute! It's a light light pink- you have to use 2 or 3 coats to make it even but it's adorable
3. Who's Spinning Tonight?
LOVE IT! It's a dark purple (perfect for my LSU game days :D ) and it looks awesome!! Also, probably doesn't need more than one coat. It's perfect :)
4. Break a Leg-Warmer!
This, and Leotard Optional, is why I ordered this mini collection. I love this color! It's a nice gray color! Great for fall! It's a darker gray but it's perfect. One coat should do for this one too.

This mini collection is perfect for me. I love nail polish and I got 4 for the price of 2 in this collection. I don't know about you but my nail polish tends to last me a long time so the fact that these are smaller than normal makes no difference to me. I HIGHLY recommend it. It's so cute and perfect for spring and fall! :)

Why I Love DSW

This week I have been looking very closely at DSW's facebook page because, little did I know, they give away free stuff ALL THE TIME!! I was so excited when I found this out because, as a shoe lover, DSW is absolutely one of my most favorite stores ever in life! So, to make sure I could take advantage of every deal and giveaway possible, I made it to where I receive a text message every time DSW updates facebook or twitter. Pathetic, maybe; but I don't care! This has been my best idea yet.  In my opinion DSW's facebook is the best thing to happen to facebook since farmville.  I mean, I don't play farmville anymore. But I did. For a long time. Too Long... It was interfering with school lol (which is why I don't have one anymore.)
Anyway, I digress. Since this wonderful idea of mine I have won 2 contests and I am getting a free surprise in the mail from DSW! :D :D :D :D :D My excitement cannot be contained.  I also learned a lot of useful information regarding DSW points and things.
In addition, not ONLY do they give away awesome stuff, the people who run the account [["Holly"]] (and, might I mention, pretty much anyone I have ever seen/talked to that works for DSW) are the nicest and most helpful people EVERRRRRRR!
So, DSW I am confessing my love to you. Thank you for feeding my shoe addiction- it is an addiction I don't want to ever be cured of, and thanks to you, I won't have to because you make it so affordable.
Everyone needs to "like" their facebook NOW! do it! you won't regret it!
